Take a look at our match gallery as City secured a place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals...
Young Spaniard Brahim Diaz – one of 10 changes to the starting line up – scored his first competitive goals for the holders, who will now face either Leicester or Southampton in the next round.
Diaz was a live-wire presence down the right all evening, while fellow youngster Phil Foden produced another hugely promising performance in central midfield, gliding past players and linking play beautifully.
And although the team was almost completely changed from the win over Spurs at Wembley, City’s dominance of possession and chances remained intact.
Diaz netted either side of half-time to ensure that City reached the last eight in consecutive seasons - something which hadn't been achieved by the Blues since 1978-79.
