Manchester City lifted the Carabao Cup in the most dramatic fashion as we beat Chelsea 4-3 in a thrilling penalty shoot-out at Wembley.
The two sides had cancelled each other out in what was a high intensity but cagey period of normal and extra time with chances at a premium as the game finished goalless.
Sergio Aguero did have the ball in the net in the second half but the effort was adjudged offside– by the narrowest of margins – after consultations with VAR.
And Kun also twice nearly made the breakthrough in extra time which also featured an extraordinary stand-off with Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga refusing to be substituted
after Maurizio Sarri indicated he wanted to bring on former Blue Willy Caballero.
In the end the game was settled by penalties with Ederson saving Jorginho’s opening spot-kick.
Though Leroy Sane saw his effort blocked David Luiz then hit the post.
That left Raheem Sterling with the responsibility of winning the Cup and Raz delivered in style to seal the most dramatic of victories.
